Little girls and their dolls 19th century paintings Victorian and Edwardian postcards

During my second childhood I revisited my love for dolls. It was amazing to learn about antique and art dolls and that adults collected them. It is the no.2 hobby in America. My search for images has turned up the beautiful pictures in today's post,They are from paintings and photographs from the  1800 and 1900's. Fine art and simple postcards are the source for these darling pictures. A few are repeats.Hope you enjoy them.

Hello! I feel so fortunate to have stumbled across your beautiful blog :)

I immediately recognized the 5th image down ~ the little girl in the blue dress having a tea party ~ because my mom cross-stitched that scene for me as a girl. It's still hanging in my old room. My daughter enjoys seeing it now...

Thanks for sharing all of your lovely images ~ looking forward to putting them to good use :)

I particularly like the 1st in this series, the girl sitting in the armchair. And the second painting of a boy. Charming.
