New computer but LOST ALL MY IMAGES on the old one!!!!

Hi everyone! This is a sad day for me and a happy one. First my monitor died. My son was kind and gave me a new flat screen. Just love it.  Since my computer was so old he also purchased a new one for me. And then my computer died before I transferred my data!! All my pictures and images are gone. Now it is time to figure out all the new things on my computer. I am so grateful for a kind and generous son. Thank you so much for my new monitor and computer!
This is all for today. Much love to you all, Louise

I think there is a way to get into your old hard drive and retrieve all your images !! I had the same thing happen to me, and my dear husband managed to catch all my precious info!! I have no idea how it works, but it's worth a try Good luck!

Even though your PC is "dead", your hard drive might be just fine. When my PC's operating system was destroyed during a failed "upgrade", my local tech "popped out" the hard drive, popped it into another PC, and backed up all the files on it so he could reload them after the PC was completely reimaged. I think this is a pretty standard problem for PC techs to deal with, and it is certainly worth a try!

Hi Louise!
What a tragedy! Is there no way to get to the data on the damaged pc?

What a generous son you have! WOW.
Sending love back to you through the world wide web. Keep smiling!!

Hugs Yolanda

I live in fear of this very thing Louise! I was talking to my son tonight (he lives far away) and expressing my fear of my external hard drive dying...he said "You really need 2 external hard drives Mom to back up." Yikes...now I won't sleep tonight. Good Luck!

I just came across your site while visiting Pinterest. So sorry to hear you lost everything. Wonder if you could get some back that maybe people have saved there. If you need an invite let me know. Rosebudette@gmail.com

Oh Louise I can feel your loss. I wondered what had happened, you've been quiet of late. I've had my computer crash and had to start from scratch. From that I've learned to keep my files on an external hard drive or some of the smaller jump drives. That way if my computer crashes I don't lose it all.

What a beatiful blog full of beautiful images! So sorry your computer died and took some of your images. Through a friend I found your blog today and was thrilled. I am getting into art journaling and would love to use some of your images but just want to make sure it is okay? Also is it okay to pin some images to my Pinterest Board with giving you and your blog as the link up?

It's nice to meet you!

Oh, I went through this too. I had online backup though, through Carbonite. I think it costs me about $50.00 per year and it's worth every cent. It automatically backs up everything without me having to worry about it. That way I got all my lost images back. Money well spent.
Good luck to you!

It would be well worth investigating in getting the data off your old harddrive, even if the harddrive is dead, data can be retrieved.....

Thanks to your son, how generous of him .... have fun learning the new one.
