Sunny Rhymes for Happy Children a Volland book illustrated by Carmen L. Browne

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a wonderful and creative day. 

Today I went through hundreds of old magazines that have been accumulating. With quilting magazines at only a quarter and free if they are older than 3 years it is so easy to get carried away. I pulled out the pictures and patterns of quilts I just loved and the rest is going to recycling. Now I want to plan and sew quilts! National geographic and Smithsonian magazines that I 'might' reread are also going. It seems I have a bit of spring cleaning going on!

Well on to the theme of the day. It is always so hard to choose! When I found this old Volland book  Sunny Ryhmes for Happy Children I knew it would be  perfect.  The illustrations are by Carmen L. Browne. Volland was a book publisher of children's books and greeting cards. You can find out more about Volland at  alephbet.com

Getting to know you... Sweet Babies and Children ~ Free ClipArt

"Getting to know you, Getting to know all about you..." Isn't that a song from the 'King and I' movie? That is what I am doing now. Getting to know the new blogger "look". I waited until Blogger made me use the new upgraded page. Being in the habit of clicking first then seeing what happens has been my method in the past. Having invested so much time and love into bumble button that seems a little risky! So far it has been a smooth transition.
This has been 'saved' right? I clicked the save button but it hasn't turned to the old reassuring 'saved'.  Oh I see it goes from 'save' to a quick 'saving' then back to 'save'. No saved. That is efficient! Little changes like this are, well little.

 Hi everyone! How are you doing?  Today I have some magazine covers for you to play with. These pretty divas where cover girls on old Photoplay magazines. Photoplay was a" motion pictures" fan magazine from the 1920's. They are full of great images so more to follow.

Fabulous 1920's Halloween Costumes ~ Bottles of Witch Cream! ~Halloween Postcards~

These have been tucked away waiting for Halloween.

 Be sure and use your witch cream on the 31st! I found this so funny.

The costumes are from an old magazines. I just love them as they are from one of my favorite time periods. Great for costume ideas. A witch with a 1920's flapper look.? I like the fairy and little bunny.
