Hi and welcome to everyone!

What a sweet little book this is! This edition is from 1897. I was so surprised when I looked up the author Rev. Isaac Watts. He was born in 1674 and lived until 1748.  The illustrations look like they were done by a contemporary artist. Very adorable and simple compared to the typical late Victorian book illustrations. What adorable pictures to make a welcome baby card or adorn a baby book or journal. Have fun creating with these little ones.

Hi Everyone! Welcome!

Very excited to share these pictures from a children's book I just discovered. The artist is a new one for me. I just love the softness of her paintings. M.E. Gray also did the illustrations for an edition of Louisa May Alcott's book 'Little Women'. As one of four girls I always enjoy seeing illustrations and paintings that feature four sisters. Now I will hunt for M.E.Gray's illustrations for that book!   Millicent Etheldreda Gray (1873-1957) was a British painter born . She attended the Cope and Nicol School and the Royal Academy Schools. Many of her illustrations for books are done in watercolor. Lots of little details. Some of the books she illustrated are  A Book of Children's Verse https://archive.org),  Princess Mary's Gift Book, The Queen's Gift Book. and Little Women. Can't wait to find copies of the other books she illustrated!

 Welcome to all of you. The days of isolation pass and I am more comfortable with the quiet. I need to find peace and serenity away from the news. I encourage those who can to take a break and find as much beauty and solace in creative endeavors. Getting lost in all the thousands of graphics stored on my computer is so satisfying. But I need to share them with you! Enjoy them. Print and use them in something you are making. These charming little ladies look very happy to be outdoors.
