Darling Illustrations by Constance Haslewood Victorian Children's Book A Merry Go-Round
Hi Everyone and Welcome.
Today I have sweet illustrations from the 1888 children's book 'A Merry Go Round'. It was illustrated by Constance Haslewood. This children's book was published 126 years ago! I love seeing what kids played with back then. Tea parties, dollhouses and of course Christmas have endured. Skipping rope and kite flying are still around. Not so sure about the May Queen. The tradition of a May Queen was not part of my childhood (50 years ago) so I do not know it's history. Sounds like a good topic for a future post!
The pictures in this post are from The Baldwin Library.
I hope you are having a wonderful and creative day.
Much Love, Louise
P.S. Thank you for your kind comments and feedback.

Beautiful paintings of Mary and Jesus by William Bouguereau.
Today is Christmas. What better day is there to post beautiful paintings of Mary and her son, Jesus. For me the paintings reflect a mothers pure love for her precious newborn son. Two of the paintings were done by William Bouguereau.. He is one of my favorite artists.
I am so thankful to also have a son to cherish and love.
Merry Christmas to all of you. Much love, Louise

Beautiful Antique Postcards featuring Sprigs of Holly
Welcome one and all!
Today I found the last few items for Christmas gifts. The Dollar Store (where everything is $1.00) was the best place for little things to put in stockings. Tomorrow I will be heading into Trader Joe's for yummy things to eat and drink. I am just so excited about Christmas this year!
Here are some old postcards for you to enjoy or print. I would say they are from 1890 - 1910. What nice tags these would make with a little glitter of course!
Take time to create something beautiful! Spread good cheer and kindness.
Much love, Louise

- give a soft answer
- encourage youth
- keep a promise
- find the time
- forgive an enemy
- listen
- apologise if you were wrong
- think first of someone else
- be kind and gentle
- express your gratitude
- gladden the heart of a child

- speak it again and still once again.

Welcome to another Christmas Monday at Bumble Buttons!
All of the pictures have angels. From Victorian and Edwardian postcards. I am so proud of myself. Already some of the holiday posts are done and scheduled! It makes me so happy knowing that all of you have something to look forward too. And they will post no matter what is distracting me from blogging.
