Divine and Moral Songs For Children. Darling Illustrations by Mrs. Arthur Gaskin. Author Reverend Isaac Watts

Hi and welcome to everyone!

What a sweet little book this is! This edition is from 1897. I was so surprised when I looked up the author Rev. Isaac Watts. He was born in 1674 and lived until 1748.  The illustrations look like they were done by a contemporary artist. Very adorable and simple compared to the typical late Victorian book illustrations. What adorable pictures to make a welcome baby card or adorn a baby book or journal. Have fun creating with these little ones.

Much love to each and everyone of you, Louise

Beautiful paintings of Mary and Jesus by William Bouguereau.

Today is Christmas. What better day is there to post beautiful paintings of Mary and her son, Jesus. For me the paintings reflect a mothers pure love for her precious newborn son. Two of the paintings were done by William Bouguereau.. He is one of my favorite artists.

I am so thankful to also have a son to cherish and love.

Merry Christmas to all of you. Much love, Louise

Exceptional Brown Eyed Girl With Forget-me-not Blue Flowers and White Ruffles ~Free Victorian Greeting Cards & Ephemera ~ Bedtime Evening Prayers

Hi everyone!
Thank you for your kind words and for continuing to visit Bumble Button.
This is button delivery day at the Legacy!  All you button collectors who can come to the store  come on in. Thursday afternoons, when the store is open until 6pm, works bests for me. I am always staying up into the wee hours so making it between 10 and 4 just never seems to happen. The Thursday gals are so nice and fun to see. Because they are all donated I never know what I will find in my drawer in the backroom.
Here are a few pictures for today.

Hope this finds you all warm and cozy. A perfect time to make a girly tag or card.

Much love to you all, Louise

Just Christmas!1910-20's Christmas cards & Seals, Art Deco Tree,

Hi everyone. How are you all doing? The days have slipped by and already it's Thursday evening. The short daylight takes getting use to. Well on to the fun stuff. Today I have 8 christmas cards for you.  Most are from early 1920's and older. Some are very art deco and current.

This cottage reminds me of Mary Engelbreit designs

There will be more later tonight depending how well I sleep! Insomnia is great for my blog. It has been a while since I actually made  something(other than a mess). My sister gave me a pretty blouse that just does not fit at all but the fabric is so pretty. So I took it apart and re cut the fabric. Just need to sew it back together.

From a booklet published in 1883.

A very pretty book end paper. Love the color. It is sized to 8 1/2" by 11" so you can print it for scrapbooking and dollhouse wallpaper.
