Delightful Yellow Roses in Paintings and Antique Late Victorian Postcards ~ Artist James Tissot Painting

Hi everyone! Glad you are visiting my little blog. My computer files are so full of pictures! It will take years to share all of them. I will do my best to keep you supplied with new images, graphics, printies, clipart or whatever you want to call them. All of those terms seem to apply.

Old postcards, illustrations, paintings and ephemera tend to feature pink and red roses. Yellow and peachy colors are a little harder to find. Happy to say I have just enough yellow roses for todays post. I love the picture of the two women smelling the huge roses. They look like twins or at least sisters. I hope you have a wonderful creative day. Much love to each and everyone of you, Louise

Charming Children's Book~ A Book of Children's Verse ~ Delightful Watercolor Illustrations by Millicent Etheldreda Gray

Hi Everyone! Welcome!

Very excited to share these pictures from a children's book I just discovered. The artist is a new one for me. I just love the softness of her paintings. M.E. Gray also did the illustrations for an edition of Louisa May Alcott's book 'Little Women'. As one of four girls I always enjoy seeing illustrations and paintings that feature four sisters. Now I will hunt for M.E.Gray's illustrations for that book!   Millicent Etheldreda Gray (1873-1957) was a British painter born . She attended the Cope and Nicol School and the Royal Academy Schools. Many of her illustrations for books are done in watercolor. Lots of little details. Some of the books she illustrated are  A Book of Children's Verse https://archive.org),  Princess Mary's Gift Book, The Queen's Gift Book. and Little Women. Can't wait to find copies of the other books she illustrated!

Victorian Greeting Card of a Beautiful Yellow Rose ~ Basket of Yellow and Orange Flowers ~ Girl with Yellow Flowers ~ Goldfinch and Nest

Hi everyone!

Tonight I am just plain old happy. Not for any reason in particular. Well maybe because my house did not burn down a month ago! The Glass wildfire in California came up the creek behind my house. Up to the neighbors back door in fact. Maybe I am happy because my computer survived a direct hit of a glass of milk 2 days ago. Aren't they supposed to short out? Why did it keep working? Anyway It felt like a miracle. Then my power has stayed on through all the wind over the last weeks. I didn't have to throw out all the food in the freezer or refrigerator.  I did not lose my internet connection.

I am just so thankful, grateful and happy tonight.

The first two picture are antique postcards. Be sure to check out https://tuckdbpostcards.org/ It can take time to find a particular card but they are a wonderful source for old postcards.

Warm fall colors and matching basket
Beautiful mix of colors.
I just love how the gorgeous little girl postcard coordinates with the Victorian rose card.

Hi everyone and welcome!
I found a 1880's scrap book on Archive that was full of the best old calling cards and ephemera.  The scrap book was created by Ida Cook in her teen years.  Had such a fun time cleaning up these for you. There are many more calling cards and ephemera to follow.

Hot Air Balloons, French 1922 L'Aeronautique, Free Edwardian Antique Postcard, Clip Art for ATC,Card Making,Scrapbooking

Hi and welcome to all.
Years ago I lived near a park in wine country. One beautiful summer morning we woke to the strangest sound. Loud swoosh then quiet, loud swoosh and then quiet.  Opening the front door to investigate we quickly discovered what the sound was. There was a huge colorful hot air balloon just landing across the street! One of my favorite memories.  Ever since that morning I love seeing these huge balloons floating across the sky. The images below are to enjoy and use in your creative endeavors.
