Delightful Yellow Roses in Paintings and Antique Late Victorian Postcards ~ Artist James Tissot Painting
Hi everyone! Glad you are visiting my little blog. My computer files are so full of pictures! It will take years to share all of them. I will do my best to keep you supplied with new images, graphics, printies, clipart or whatever you want to call them. All of those terms seem to apply.
Old postcards, illustrations, paintings and ephemera tend to feature pink and red roses. Yellow and peachy colors are a little harder to find. Happy to say I have just enough yellow roses for todays post. I love the picture of the two women smelling the huge roses. They look like twins or at least sisters. I hope you have a wonderful creative day. Much love to each and everyone of you, Louise

Playing Hide and Seek in the Garden~ Beautiful Paintings by Charles Curran, James Tissot and James Hayllar
Good afternoon and welcome to my little blog!
Gardens are blooming. The flowers and sunshine make it hard to stay inside. The painting 'Peonies' by Charles Curran is my inspiration today. The girls expression pulls me right in. What is she thinking? Paintings that spark my curiosity and positive emotions are usually my favorites. So engaging. The sunlight on her hair, cheek and the flowers reminds me of warm lovely days I have spent in my and grandmother's gardens.
Be safe. Be kind.
Much love to each of you, Louise

Beautiful paintings by James Tissot
Welcome to you all.
Need an escape from all the shopping or problems in life? Then you have found it!
Today is for James Tissot. I never tire of his paintings. Sumptuous dresses and rich colors and I am off to another era and time. This group of paintings feature ladies looking at or holding Japanese objects. The 'Shop Girl' is included because many of you are out shopping! The artist's self portrait is last.
All of these images where found on The Athenaeum.

Romantic 1880's Paintings by James Tissot
Hi everyone, welcome to you all. Today's post features the art work of James Tissot. He is one of my favorite artists. One reason he is a favorite is the beautiful dresses in his paintings. Also the late Victorian time period. Researching different artists has returned me to a love of art history. I took the class twice in college many years ago. Examples of an artists works were harder to find then. A lot would be in black and white. The Internet is just amazing for finding things! Seeing most or at least many examples reveals much more about the artist and his/her development. Reading biographies enable me to see what may have influenced the subject matter and manner an artist selects. This isn't an art history blog but from time to time I will focus on an artist. All the pictures today are from The Athenaeum. What an excellent resource to have stumbled upon! You will recognize several I am sure as the have been published on greeting cards or as reproductions. Enjoy the paintings and thank you for stopping by. Much love to all of you, Louise
I selected the first three because of that big fur blanket and the children.
