This is a fun silly post! It just happened. The first picture, from an antique Easter greeting card, started it all. For some reason I just love this picture! It makes me happy every time I see it.  I don't know what to call the theme for today. Ladies preforming, juggling, dancing on flowers, spinning on a top and training rabbits. All very whimsical and oddly have a common thread.  So have fun making cards, embellishing journals and creating mixed media projects!

Hi everyone and a big welcome to all. 

Things have really changed from when I started the draft for this post! What a difference a year makes. The first photograph was the starting point for this little caper into art and disguise. Who knew a look through a mask could be so intriguing. With all due respect to the medical masks that are part of our lives this year, this is just about the fun kind of masks. Masks used for parties, intrigue, and flirting only! I hope you can use one of these in your art and craft projects.

Charming Raphael Tuck Halloween Postcards ~100 Years Old~

Hi everyone and welcome.

 Already mid October and I have not posted any halloween pictures!  I need to get busy so you can have images and graphics for your halloween themed crafting projects. These postcards are from a series of 6 cards published in 1918 by Raphael Tuck & Sons.   I like that they are lighthearted and fun.

Free Gift Tags and Button Cards For You to Print!

Hi everyone! 

 It is rewarding to come across the images I spend many hours searching for, scanning and cleaning up. 

How wonderful to see all the creative cards, tags, collages and scrapbooking pages you have made using graphics you found here. I have always been so curios to see what you were making and now all I have to do is look on Pinterest and the web!

Thank you for your continued kind comments. Today there were so many to read and post! 
To answer a few questions; 

How do I attach the buttons to the cards? Sewing them on by hand like the originals seems to work the best for me, When a button has a shank I punch a hole in the card. On the back I then use a safety pin to hold the button in place(if there is only one button). If there are many I run a thread through all the shanks and tie a knot. I suppose glue or hot glue might work for cards depending on how the card will be used.

Steam Punk and Free Clip Art of 1895 Halloween Costumes

 Today is a very different post.I have come across the term Steam Punk here and there but thought it only applied to collages and jewelry with bits of old watches and clocks. Well...it is much more than that!   It was time to look into Steam Punk on wikipedia. Wow! There is nothing subtle about Steam Punk. I can't say I like most of it but some of the fashions are beautiful and all of it is so creative.

No wonder I see more corset stuff out there. The other day we even had a gentleman customer whose wife made custom corsets.

 Going into my Halloween file for a new  post I found the following images from a 1895 book. Perfect for making witches. They also look Steam Punky to me. What ever your interests are I hope you enjoy the images below.

Antique Tuck's Halloween Postcards Free For Your Crafting

Hi everyone! First an update on our give away. We recieved some buttons! On monday afternoon the Legacy manager will  have the drawing. It will be so fun to see who wins.

We are thinking of having a monthly drawing.So if we recieve your donation of buttons after the 15th you will automatically be in the next drawing. More information to follow as we workout the details.

October 13th and you need pictures for Halloween!These postcards were made by the Tuck company. Originally published around 1905 they are still endearing. Sweet, playful and not scary they can be made into cards for little ones.I love that blue! Now to find a shirt that pretty color. There are several other postcards in this set so they will be posted in the future.

We need buttons! Free Clip Art 1890's Fashions Make a Witch! Donate a Button Win Antique Lace and Trim

Hi everyone! Thursday was another wonderful day at "my" shop, The Legacy. We are so low on buttons. The store receives donations all the time but not many buttons have come in this month. If you have any to spare we would love to have them! Our address is:

The store manager gave me the O.K. to hold a drawing. Mail at least one button (or as many as you can bear to part with) to enter. On October 15th we will hold a drawing. The prize will be a bag of bits and snippets of old lace, thread and other goodies.

 The store has a plastic flowerpot full of buttons and each child that comes in can select 3 free buttons. They love it and it keeps them happy and busy, searching for just the right one. But our pot is almost empty!!

Now for some free clip art. My sister sent me a picture of these fabulous witches.

 I have just the thing so you can make your own. They are fashion plates from the 1870's.

  Love the costumes! These photographs are from an early 1900's theater magazine. I can just see them in collages and scrap books. How fun to make a greeting card with them. Have fun and I hope they put a smile on your face.
