Just Christmas!1910-20's Christmas cards & Seals, Art Deco Tree,

Hi everyone. How are you all doing? The days have slipped by and already it's Thursday evening. The short daylight takes getting use to. Well on to the fun stuff. Today I have 8 christmas cards for you.  Most are from early 1920's and older. Some are very art deco and current.
This cottage reminds me of Mary Engelbreit designs
There will be more later tonight depending how well I sleep! Insomnia is great for my blog. It has been a while since I actually made  something(other than a mess). My sister gave me a pretty blouse that just does not fit at all but the fabric is so pretty. So I took it apart and re cut the fabric. Just need to sew it back together.

Rare Adelaide Hanscom illustrations from 1905 Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam

Several years ago I saw this book at a rummage sale. I knew it was something special and purchased it. They pictures are so unusual. Thinking it might be of interesting for the bumble button.I looked into the illustrator. Well...it turns out this book is a real treasure. The book was in wonderful condition when purchased. I wish I had done my research before scanning the pictures. The book began to fall apart. Then I just pulled it apart for easier scanning. Now I am just sick over what I did. This book is a rare 1905 1st edition. Adelaide lived from 1875 to 1931 and is one of the first, if not the first, to use photographs for literary illustration.
I encourage you to  read more about this remarkable creative woman. Below are some links to learn more about her.
The pictures are quite different from what I have come across so they may only appeal to a few of you. If you like them, what an amazing collection to work with. Much love, Louise

It is a Beautiful Day! Family Antique Postcards

The sun is shinning, amazing fall leaves and new images for all you creative lady's.
Taking my shower this morning I realized how positive all the product names are,
 refresh - nourish - breath
Do you have any inspiring things in your shower?
My all time favorite product name is hope in a jar by philosophy@. I purchased it years ago but saved the cute little jar. It is on a shelve in my bathroom so I see it every day. I love little containers and boxes. Actually anything tiny or miniature.
One of these days I will take and share pictures of my 1930's dollhouse for all those dollhouse lovers. The miniatures and furniture were my aunts when she was a little girl. Over the years I have added other 1930's items. Strombecker & Dolly Dear to name a few manufactures. Love that eBay!.
I just tried to enter Cathe Holden's ( at just something i made)giveaway. Not sure how to send my comment after it is filled out. She has fantastic new stamps for Christmas.
On to the pics. of the day!
Cows and farmer. This is from California long ago. .
On the road again..no side saddle riding for these gals.
. 1915 Panama Pacific Expo General Electric post card.
Old advertisement for spring Sanborn wagons 1883
Pretty little girl with doll and little boy playing the drums for your scrapbooking.
This is the only the first batch of the day. More to follow.
I want to post some photographs.
 Enjoy! Louise

Good Morning everyone. A few pictures from the 1800's.

Good morning to all of you. Thank you for all the kind and encouraging words! Now we are really having fun! I looked at many of your beautiful blogs and am now following them. Here are the first batch of free vintage images for today. You have all inspired me.
I remember doing this in our Chevy station wagon, Another great pic from the 1883 booklet. The booklet is falling apart and scanning might finish it off!
Droopy Drawers.
They must need a change based on their facial expressions. Or more likely they both want the toy.
My great grandparents built a large house on bond street. I am guessing this might be payment for the plans. Found this in an old trunk.
Need a place to hang your wonderful lovely art? A very Victorian interior. What a contrast to the current trends in interior design.
I have always loved sleighs. Riding in one is on my wish  list. I can imagine the crisp cold air, the sound of horse bells and beautiful snow blanketed forest. How romantic!
Enjoy! Louise

Kind Words & Followers

Just returned from house sitting and checked my blog. So many kind and encouraging words and followers. This is really a wonderful thing!
My great grandfather Gen.Bouton and 1st wife Maggie Fox wedding certificate. This needs to be rescanned and I will try and clean it up.
Mystery couple
My grandfather "papa". Having the luxury of not having to work, Papa cooked, and would get up for the night time baby feedings. Born in 1895 he was my great grandparents only child. General Edward Bouton was 60 when his son was born. His trunk from mid 1800's was passed to me in 1988. I need to take some pictures of the inside. It is lined with red paper and Victorian images.
