Welcome to all my new and returning visitors!
It is time to celebrate the coming new year.
My wish for 2014 is for peace.
I firmly believe that we are here to love and help one another through life's challenges. May we all find the loving compassion in our hearts to make a positive change for others.
I often say to create something beautiful. Today I am adding "and give it to someone who needs a little gift of love to brighten their day.

Little Birds to Brighten a Winters Day!

Hi everyone!
Glad you have come for a visit.  It is a bright sunny day here in California. The only clue that it is winter is cooler temperatures and fewer hours of sunlight. As much as I love the sunshine we do need some rain!
To brighten your winter day I have black and white graphics of little birds. There is even a Canary. I especially like the first picture. It is from a book that was given to someone special.
Thank you for your kind comments. They let me know what you are interested in and of course make my day. Love hearing from my faithful followers who have patiently waited for me to get busy blogging again!
Much love as always, Louise

Beautiful paintings of Mary and Jesus by William Bouguereau.

Today is Christmas. What better day is there to post beautiful paintings of Mary and her son, Jesus. For me the paintings reflect a mothers pure love for her precious newborn son. Two of the paintings were done by William Bouguereau.. He is one of my favorite artists.
I am so thankful to also have a son to cherish and love.
Merry Christmas to all of you. Much love, Louise

Antique Tinted Photographic Postcards Sweet Children and Women Sledding Free for Greeting Cards,Collage

Hi everyone and welcome!
Old postcards from the early 1900's are often so cute and whimsical. These photographic postcards are both. The young ladies in the sleighs would make the best Christmas cards and tags ever. I love the Edwardian clothing. When ever I see pictures with fur muffs I can't help but wonder does anyone use them anymore?  Not long ago a child's vintage white rabbit hat and matching muff were donated. I don't remember having one when I was a child but maybe it will trigger one of your memories.
I am so glad you came for a visit. It is nice to be up and blogging again!
Stay warm and create something beautiful!
Much love as always, Louise

I do not know what has gotten into me! I have another new post for you!
Looking through my files for just the right thing and this is it. Ballet!  It is the time of year when so many see The Nutcracker Suite. I remember watching it on TV and falling in love with ballet. It was just so pretty. The pictures today feature the Romantic Era  ballerina, Marie Taglioni (1804-1884). The picture are from Wikimedia Commons.
Enjoy the images and hopefully they will find there way into your many and varied projects.
Much love to all of you, Louise

Beautiful Antique Postcards featuring Sprigs of Holly

 Welcome one and all!
Today I found the last few items for Christmas gifts. The Dollar Store (where everything is $1.00) was the best place for little things to put in stockings. Tomorrow I will be heading into Trader Joe's for yummy things to eat and drink. I am just so excited about Christmas this year!
Here are some old postcards for you to enjoy or print. I would say they are from 1890 - 1910. What nice tags these would make with a little glitter of course!
Take time to create something beautiful! Spread good cheer and kindness.
Much love, Louise

Need an escape from all the shopping or problems in life? Then you have found it!
Today is for James Tissot. I never tire of his paintings. Sumptuous dresses and rich colors and I am off to another era and time. This group of paintings feature ladies looking at or holding Japanese objects. The 'Shop Girl' is included because many of you are out shopping! The artist's self portrait is last.
All of these images where found on The Athenaeum.

Free Antique Button Cards - For Altered Art,Artists Trading Cards,Scrapbooking etc...

Good morning and welcome to everyone!
The Legacy is full of customers these days. People are looking for gifts and materials for making gifts. On Thursday one customer was buying our button cards for gifts! That made Marie's and my day for sure. Another volunteer has offered to help sew buttons on cards. Looking forward to meeting her and getting that process going. We have been getting a steady stream of button donations and have lots to do.
Some of you asked about the new manager at the Legacy. I am happy to report that Nic is wonderful and fun to work with. He has lots of experience and most importantly a sense of humor and patience.
Now on to what you are really interested in and that is free images!
One type of button card that really sells well is our antique reproductions. I recently finished up a few for the store and thought you might like them too.
Print them on heavy card stock if you are going to sew buttons on them.
The original card came in with lots of tiny baby shell pearl buttons! Just darling.
Thank you for all your comments and good wishes.
Much love to each of you, Louise
