Hi everyone!
Today the charming art work of Kate Greenaway (1846-1901) is featured. Kate Greenaway was an English children's book illustrator and writer. The children she drew wore clothing inspired by the late 1700's and Regency period. In the 1880s and 1890s children's clothing was manufactured based on her drawings. Just like Jane Austen would have little girls had high-waisted dresses, mob caps and straw bonnets to dress in.
Thank you for visiting and following and so many kind comments. Much love to you all, Louise

ooh! I love some Kate Greenaway! Thank you for posting.
I adored Kate Greenaway's illustrations as a child. She probably influenced my love of past fashions!
so charming, thank you!!
My beautiful mother dressed up my little sister and I in wonderful Kate Greenway dresses. I'll never forget them. Thank you for generously taking me back in time. I'll make Mother notecards with these.
