Antique Railroad advertisement's featuring Native American pottery and baskets for instant art, collage and frames for scrap booking

 Thought these old train advertisements where so neat I just had to share them. They maybe a good reference for native American basket and pottery design. They are posted as frames and in black and white so they could be used for a variety of uses. I can just see a store in the southwest making a sign out of the frames. Perfect for scrap booking of your summer vacations in Arizona.

My grandparents left a few Santa Fe railroad ephemera items so there are only a few graphics. This is a third quick post. There are so many graphics and photographs that I want to share there will most likely be a fourth!

My Grandmother had a basket collection that was lost in one of their moves. In newspaper clippings and my family history I should be a 6th generation Californian. So far I have not found a branch that was here earlier than 1870's that would result in six generations. Just a little personal genealogy tad-bit.

Complexion powder? Perfume salts? Wonder what ingredients they contained. Regardless of what the original products were made of, the old advertising graphics are safe to use! All free for your use and enjoyment.

Beautiful and cheery pictures from antique postcards and paintings to celebrate the first day of August

Hi everyone! How fast the days slip by... In between the buttons,washing every piece of my fabric stash and other fun things, I have been keeping up with the political maneuvering in

Washington. They seem to be finally working things out. The next few days will be interesting.

It is August first! how did that happen?

On Thursday I had the nicest visit at the legacy. There was time for going through some of the quilt fabric after tidying up the buttons. I found lots of pretty fabric. When I got home it was time for organisation and cleaning. I washed out the containers and added a few more to hold all the new and old fabrics.  One thing I love is that every scrap will be clean and ready to sew with. As some of you know washing all those fat quarters and raw edged yardage results in a lot of loose thread and knots of fabric!  One big ball of mess. There are still a few small loads left to do, but then it will be done forever. From now on anything new will be washed before it is put away.

I have a few new images for you. The aqua or teal blue color brought this varied group together. Hope you like them.

Ballet dancers! All the pictures are from antique postcards. A few are pre 1900.

I just do not think of a ballerina smoking! Then I remembered one time at the airport, a group of incredible looking men waiting outside the terminal. It turned out they were ballet dancers from Russia and they were all smoking. After such a long flight they probably needed a cigarette!  It was a real treat seeing and talking to them.

I really like this post for some reason and hope you do too. Have fun using them in your projects.

Gorgeous Victorian Rose clipart. Perfect for labels & frames. Free printable ephemera from antique scrap books.

Pinks and greens are so pretty together. At one time I had a soft flowing (chiffon?) pink nightgown with lace and tiny tucks at the bodice. A narrow green velvet ribbon was threaded through the lace. So feminine.

That is how the Victorian roses and labels make me feel. Very girlie.
